PORT WASHINGTON, Wis. –Delaware Sustainable Energy Utility’s Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Program, an Energize Delaware initiative, implemented by Franklin Energy, exceeded pre-COVID expectations and achieved year-over-year goals in participation and energy savings performance.
Franklin Energy, a leading provider of energy efficiency and grid optimization solutions, announced today that its client Delaware Sustainable Energy Utility (DESEU), through their Energize Delaware initiative, has received the ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year—Sustained Excellence Award from the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy for the fourth consecutive year.
The agencies awarded the DESEU its Sustained Excellence award for the organization’s Home Performance with ENERGY STAR and Assisted Home Performance with ENERGY STAR programs, which Franklin Energy implements through a partnership with Energize Delaware.
“We have strong goals to support workforce development, contractor training, consumer benefits, education, and more to support the clean-energy transformation in Delaware,” said Tony DePrima, DESEU Executive Director. “Receiving this award for the fourth consecutive year is a true testament to the hard work of our staff and trade allies, and of our partnership with Franklin Energy.”
The fuel-neutral programs are open to most residential property owners statewide. Energize Delaware programs encourage property owners to make energy efficiency improvements through a series of actions beginning with a BPI-certified Home Performance with ENERGY STAR assessment, featuring a subsidized base price. Participating customers benefit immediately through energy-saving products installed at the time of the assessment for no additional cost. The program also serves income-eligible homeowners and offers a discounted co-pay for the assessment as well as increased prescriptive rebate levels.
“The program applied an effective mix of education, incentive stimulus and process modification to weather the difficulty brought by the pandemic, and overall it posted favorable statistics for the year with customers in stay-at-home mode and trade allies anxious to continue performing assessments and project installations,” said Paul Smith, Franklin Energy Regional Vice President. “We are proud of our accomplishments and our strong partnership with DESEU on the Energize Delaware program.”
The Sustained Excellence award is the highest honor bestowed by the ENERGY STAR program. Winners are part of a distinguished group that has made a long-term commitment to fighting climate change and protecting public health through energy efficiency. They are among the nation’s leaders in driving value for the environment, the economy, and the American people.
Winners are selected from a network of thousands of ENERGY STAR partners. For a complete list of 2021 winners and more information about ENERGY STAR’s awards program, visit energystar.gov/awardwinners.
